I think a better solution to this might be to take a few steps back
and ask ourselves some questions.

1. What kind of things will activity streams have? What do we envision
today, what is coming down the road and how can we be flexible enough
for the future without getting boggred down into a lot of complexity?

2. What other notification APIs exist? What can we learn from them?
I'm familiar with a few notification APIs.

What do the big guys do? What does Facebook do, for example?

Maybe we can't emulate their architecture, but understanding even the
API may help us think about the problem in a better way.

3. Maybe we should meet together, those of us interested in this. We
did this in DC (where Activity Streams was discussed at length). Maybe
we can meet online?
