 @ghia: I strongly oppose that suggestion for privacy reasons. I would not
 like to give everybody the option to see if and when I read a message he
 sent to me. Your suggestion is no usual message system behaviour (e.g. the
 email client Mozilla Thunderbird blocks tracking attempts by external
 image inclusion in mails by default). If you want to know if a message has
 been read, just ask the receiver for a short confirmation reply.
