That doesn't really seem to compute. -You- are adding an additional registration, and are generating the additional hassle. If you want to provide some additional services to registered maps.me users, simply ask them to sign up with OSM and use OAuth to authenticate them. Problem vanishes in a puff of smoke. :-)
