Could you please direct me to the code that sends that e-mail? I have never seen it, even when I tested registration from scratch a week ago.

In some countries users even set their welcoming services like [this one for Belgium](https://welcome.osm.be/), [for Italy](http://welcome.openstreetmap.it/) or [for Russia](http://welcome.osmz.ru/) just to send useful links to new users.
