@tomhughes - though that's similar for proposing tagging schemes? The people that care about it will comment, and those that don't care do not comment (and can be assumed to be ok with it, as long as it doesn't break a fundamental aspect of OSM, such as open licensing). We could email the relevant OSM lists, so people have fair notice?
