That doesn't update the codebase, just the underlying system libraries. 

Updating your copy of the codebase using git can be done in a number of ways, depending on whether you've made changes to the code on your system. If you haven't then `git pull` is usually sufficient. But there are many tutorials on how to use git available online that will do a better job of explaining it than I will!
