Sure, that was Dimesh from [changeset 84683636](https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/84683636). I'm not sure how Gravatars are delivered but I suppose they'd come directly from their servers - [here](https://openstreetmap-user-avatars.s3.dualstack.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/variants/gVCyCqBtcEZgv6TGpPtbyK7Q/3aea362fed7230996d7ccc5651c7e6485f15ac6d6a6aeadcde2e32f030ff5b55?response-content-disposition=inline%3B%20filename%3D%22DSC_0518.JPG%22%3B%20filename%2A%3DUTF-8%27%27DSC_0518.JPG&response-content-type=image%2Fjpeg&X-Amz-Algorithm=AWS4-HMAC-SHA256&X-Amz-Credential=AKIASQUXHPE7AMJQRFOS%2F20200513%2Feu-west-1%2Fs3%2Faws4_request&X-Amz-Date=20200513T094319Z&X-Amz-Expires=300&X-Amz-SignedHeaders=host&X-Amz-Signature=3c10c888c7af09d6265e8e5a908ed1de00d79cc340a797bd04977bf0c7c63ab6) you can still see in the URL that he originally uploaded a digicam picture unmodified.
