[openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website] "Directions from here" often places the point hundreds of meters elsewhere (#2982)

I can always move the red and green makers anywhere I want along the road with the mouse, and it works great.

I just don't understand why the right click menu's "Directions from here" and "Directions to here" often place the point hundreds of meters elsewhere, whereupon I simply have to grab it and put it back where I intended it to be.
