Yes, exactly, JOSM might be one use case. I'm trying one OAuth 2.0 client lib, that has http://127.0.0.1 ... as redirect all over in the config settings. I've seen some lambda expression (don't know how exactly they're called in Ruby), that would check for the hostname part, and deactivate https in case of hostname == 127.0.0.1
