@gravitystorm You say volunteers are welcome... Hypothetically speaking, if one were to invest the effort into investigating codebase and writing a pull request to implement sorting by note status / date, what are the chances they'd be getting feedback/hints from OSM people with commit privileges and PR eventually being accepted (if it is written up to the standards, of course)?

I'm asking as I've obviously been interested enough to write 3rd party workaround for this issue (see previous comments), and might be interested to fix it at the source, but for last OSM PR I've invested time to learn and write (after getting similar "invitation" implying that such feature would be accepted if written in specific way) I've been unable to get anybody with commit rights to even comment on, and much less accept it, despite several attempts to reach them, for more than 3 months (see PR https://github.com/openstreetmap/chef/pull/383 and https://github.com/openstreetmap/chef/issues/373).

Which is, needless to say, **highly demotivating**. I'm first to understand that OSM team has a lots of work to do, and that some tickets are way less important than others... But I would've expected **some communication** (even if it was just to say they don't like the coding style, or that they want it done differently etc) at least once a month? Is that too optimistic, or am I trying to use wrong communication channels (issues and PRs)?

I understand that it is different OSM repo and a different issue, but I **really** want to make **very sure** I won't be wasting a lot of my time and effort if I decide to try to tackle this one... I hope you understand (and I also hope nobody takes this personally, that is not my intention), and can provide some insight. Thanks!
