[openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website] State of the map (#3238)

Dear Mr. Hughes,
 
 
thank you! I did not find the closing button before you told me to look for 
it.
 
But to answer your question: I often make screen copies of the maps and 
print them on paper to use them outside. By using the "Paint" tool I cut 
out the interesting area in a way that it fits to the paper size. If I put 
the interesting area to the left this cut-out will include the image "State 
of the map" - if I do not click it away. If I put the interesting area to 
the right this cut-out will not include the scale bars. 
 
But now I have closed the "State of the map", as you have told me, and 
everything is o.k.

How does it "disturb the map content" exactly? Sure it overlays some of it, 
but you just close it once you've read it and you'll never see it again.
If your screen is small enough that it overlaps the scale bars then I doubt 
that moving it to the right will change anything much anyway.
