My first interaction on the entire repo and I get the issue closed.
Apologies. In hindsight, upon learning the amount of parties involved, I can understand how these comments can be frustrating.
On the other hand, to the observer it is as simple as (1) go to OSM, (2) observe low-DPI tiles by default, (3) find this open issue through Google, (4) see no passionate effort redirecting the attention to where it should be headed, and (5) misinterpret that as relevant people being unaware. Perhaps the knowledge deficit between developers and observers causes the disconnect.
> I'm happy to clarify any of the above points.
@gravitystorm could you clarify point number two in relation to the default OSM map behavior described above, so the next person who is brought to this closed issue (and I) can understand the problem better?
Along the lines of: _This website uses provider X for the default tiles, and they cannot provide High-DPI tiles because of reason Y, which is discussed in issue Z, where they need help with V?_
