I am supportive of some sort of solution to the problem being raised. I provided a comment on a changeset by the person raising the issue. It was something like "this changeset is too large to meaningfully review, please make it smaller". I really don't know the solution. I can see the argument being made for large changesets that cover wide geographical areas. I am just trying to keep an eye on a small local geographical area. So when a geographically wide changeset comes along, I cannot easily see if there were, indeed, ANY changes in my local area. I am also not sure what tool the improvement should be made in. I usually run into these changesets when I use OSMCHA. If I can't zero in on the changes, I may then look at the change in OSM. The one that triggered this change request is changeset: 112179184. Along the lines of request for change, something that looks like overpass-turbo would be very nice. (for me as a reviewer of changes in my area). Refer to the specific changeset cited and you will see other commenters piling on with similar misgivings about such large changesets.
