Well the problem is that there is no way to switch layer in the share panel so you're actually closing it (in order to open the layer switcher) and then reopening it so the state is reset.

The only way to fix it would be for the state of the share panel to be persistent from one use to the next which would go a lot further than what you're asking for here - well either that or add a way to switch layers to the share panel.
