[openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website] Do not zoom/pan to first Nominatim result if other results are equally probable (Issue #3991)

Certainly we don't want to be having to do a lot of complicated analysis of the results that nominatim sends - it's the geocode not us and we don't want to be second guessing it.

So if there's some simple value in the nominatim result we can compare then maybe we can consider this but I don't think we're going to start applying a whole series of rules like you propose at the client side.
