Because the error message you're adding in #5023 is not what I meant here https://github.com/openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website/pull/4894#issuecomment-2168418319 and now you discovered why. This is what I meant:

For the login page with autofocus on the input maybe the error message should be under the input.
