Just a quick note for information:
What this change introduces is not considered a suitable application of OpenStreetMap Carto by the OSM-Carto designers. Guidelines for this can be found on https://github.com/openstreetmap-carto/openstreetmap-carto/issues/5117.
This change does two things that - as described in the linked to document - we do not consider suitable applications of the style. That is:
* display of a map based on the style at lower than native resolution.
* using raster post processing after rendering in the form of resampling.
To be clear: This has no immediate practical effect - OpenStreetMap Carto can be freely used by anyone even for applications that the OSM-Carto designers do not consider suitable uses of the style. And, since you don't credit OpenStreetMap Carto anyway, there is no point in asking not to be associated with this use. And finally - this dashboard has never been a significant use case for OpenStreetMap Carto style development, so this change is not going to affect OSM-Carto style development in a measurable way.
Bottom line: OpenStreetMap Carto does not really take substantial issue with this change, but i thought it is prudent to point out that our work is neither intended to be used this way nor do we consider it a suitable application to use it this way.
