I’ve marked this issue as blocked by maplibre/maplibre-gl-js#1591. I’ve prototyped a better discrete zoom implementation there that feels closer to Leaflet’s mobile behavior, but it still needs some work to be compatible across all the different browsers we support. It’s close enough that I think we can proceed with the conversion of other maps on the site.
