I reckon an icon for relations might work - it would indicate that they're something different without immediately asking people to understand what a relation is.

The example I provided was [this way](https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/406448491).

Route relations (such as on [this way](https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/511517004)) are another example where I think a similar improvement would help. (And on a related issue, "query feature" currently describes those as a "Relation" where "route" - or even "bus route" - would be better.)
