That's a good point 👍 The issue then is that the "Edit" section looks like a button, whereas the others look like navigation. It should be obvious that you can just click away from "Edit", but experience with other interfaces makes me think of buttons differently.
>From the project history, looks like the current layout was a product of wanting to improve the experience for mobile/narrow screens (https://github.com/openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website/pull/4854, https://github.com/openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website/pull/5151). That's good. I wonder if there's a way to evolve it in a way that brings it back to evoking navigation, still highlighted due to its importance but not in a way that could confuse users.
