Just to clarify, the only concrete feedback since I asked about it (I don't mean to sound negative – the conversation was good to have) was @waldyrious's comment [here](https://github.com/openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website/pull/6448#issuecomment-3564636673) that they would prefer the changes be wrapped in `<ins>` and `<del>` so that user agents can better understand what's going on.

I'll make this change later today and we can go from there.
