Cj-Malone created an issue (openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website#7342)
### Problem
The map on OSM.org defaults to "Standard". This has caused a lot of people to think OSM is Carto. And caused a lot of discussion over what should or should not be included in Carto.
### Description
Instead of eventually changing to another single render, has it been considered to change to several?
OSM.org could pick a "random" layer when a user hasn't selected a specific one. This would hopefully help people see that OSM is the data, not a specific render. Reduse the pressure of one project to render everything. Democratise rendering, we currently have a few people with a very large amount of power over "what and how OSM should be rendered".
I put "random" in quotes because some user agents may need to stick with raster tiles, while others may prefer vector. Or "we" may decide that some renders should be shown more often than others. Etc
