Yes, the layer definitions are already obsolete, since we handle that directly in this repository. The `L.OSM.DataLayer` class and its helpers are the last thing we really need the library for. I’m pretty sure we’d be relying on a different library for that: https://github.com/openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website/issues/6234#issuecomment-3672139717.
