I have implemented the workaround as described in the links provided by @JamesLMilner (thank you again!). I have it working correctly on local and on the dev server (https://pablobm.apis.dev.openstreetmap.org/moderation_zones).

I guess this is one thing to consider when selecting a drawing library, as raised in the comments above. Having said that:
- The issue appears to be with MapLibre, not with Terra Draw. It's likely then that it will happen with other alternatives.
- Going with Terra Draw for this specific use case doesn't bind us to use it everywhere in the future. It's an opportunity to put it to the test, in order to make a more informed decision when the time comes to pick one for more general use.
