Thanks for the background behind the observed behavior. I think there's still room to match the intent behind it.

In #6913 I ran the autofixer, the partially identical subtrees still caused the build to fail though.

Also, I would expect the autofixer to also deduplicate the structure as far down as it matches exactly, and also show these as warnings, not unanimously as hints. If the messages differ a bit depending on how this matches, I think I would've been less confused at first.
