[openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website] "Query features" highlights wrong features (Issue #7308)

I managed to reproduce this once, but couldn’t get it to happen again in my next few attempts. Since @danieldegroot2 mentioned the previous selection/hover state, is there anything specific you’d suggest I try to narrow down why it happens only sometimes? I’d like to take a shot at fixing this one.
