Together, those measures mean that you now have the burden of making
sure that *no* tool that accesses the database will *ever* show the
coordinates of deleted nodes.
Off the top of my head, I can list at least Osmosis and the full history
dump script as software that needs to be modified in addition to the
rails port, or else these programs will not know anything of your plan
and happily continue publish the (CC-BY-SA'd) coordinates of deleted nodes.
The not-B solutions, while less elegant, would have you saved from
knowing exactly who accesses the database and fixing all those programs.
Then again, all those programs likely need work to cope with
"redactions" anyway. One just has to keep in mind to deal with the
deleted-nodes issue too.
