Sigh, during the phone conference the idea was aired and clearly seen as
a possible way of redacting with low impact (I've personally changed my
mind on the later but that is a different story). In the following
period of time nobody, well at least nobody communicating to the group
as a whole, actually put it forward again and said "yes this is what we
are going to do". At best there has been conflicting information.
If it is any consolation there where exactly as many version of my text
based on an online redacting scenario as for an offline rebuild (you
just didn't see them).
As to rushing it, well yes it is a rush. But then I would consider
anything less that a full six months notice including definite dates for
a planned change as we envision now totally non-professional (this
-does- impact some peoples livelihood doesn't it?). But then this is OSM
and in so far adding or removing a couple of days notice doesn't really
make a difference.
Outside of that I am not aware that anybody has been threaten that
he/she will loose their job or any other forms of pressure to have the
transition complete by the 1st, it will happen when we are ready and
not before.
