Hi Jon,
I do not think that this will be much of a problem.
Once you know what you want to collect and how to
get this data filtering out bad data becomes easy.
Everything that is not within some sane bounds for
a given type of road is not used.
The problem is more like "finding a consensus and
getting started at all".
