OK, so your wayTypes is sorted by both name and location (Z-order). 
Interesting approach, will remember that.

For Germany, it's not an "optimization", but a basic feature. Without 
it, many of the routes are simply unusable.
Please note that the thread started with me asking if anyone had a 
faster method of checking the polygons, not asking for it to be done in 
other routers. If you won't do it in Gosmore, that's fine with me, but 
please don't tell me not to do it in my own router.
