Dear friends and colleagues,

We are happy to invite you to submit your abstract and present your
research at the Academic Track of the State of the Map 2022 in a hybrid
setting, in Florence, Italy and online simultaneously. The Call for
Abstracts is now open [1].

Join us for a full day of academic talks. We believe that the Academic
Track is a wonderful opportunity to connect the OpenStreetMap community
with the research community and to provide a platform to exchange ideas,
communication and opportunities for increased collaboration. The Academic
Track builds on the success of previous tracks that were held annually
since 2018. Outcomes of previous Academic Tracks are published as
Conference proceedings [2, 3, 4] as well as a successful Special Issue
titled "OpenStreetMap as A Multi-Disciplinary Nexus: Perspectives,
Practices and Procedures" in the ISPRS International Journal of
Geo-information [5]. All previous publications are open access.

Abstracts should be between 800 and 1200 words in length and should be
submitted via the conference management system [6]. The deadline for
submission is 10 May 2022. Questions directed to the Scientific Committee
should be sent to academic-sotm at openstreetmap.org.

Please feel free to distribute the call within your networks. We hope to
see you and learn about your research in person or online.

Best regards,
Marco, Yair, Levente, Pengyuan and Hao, aka. The Scientific Committee
