Hi,
can anybody organize the OpenStreetMap growth rate per region? My idea was to have an indicator like [new nodes] / [100 square kilometers] over the last x month for different countries or regions?
If we combine this with an indicator like [total nodes] / [100 square kilometers] then we could get a very nice overview of what happens per regions and even classify regions to a certain maturity level and also identify some needs that correlate with the maturity level of the region.
We could create a grid with 4 or nine fields on two axis: (1) growth rate versus (2) coverage. And then we assign all regions to one of the nine fields.
My idea was that in regions with hardly any coverage (low number of [total nodes] / [100 km^2]) there will be less issues with licensing and rather with mobilizing people to start mapping. We might be able to identify common needs for those clusters.
Regards,
Oliver
