Subject: [Strategic] tile layers policy


Hi Strategic

We have a direct request from the Board to look at a policy issue: How do we 
decide which tile layers to include on the main OSM website? 



If you're interested to take part, we'll hold an IRC chat this week, or early 
next week, to start working. Please give times you can commit to on this

This is a highly interconnected issue, touching on usability, technical, 
community, etc. But also a very well defined and simple question. I'll follow 
the original email for discussion.

Over the few weeks, the Strategic WG has as its goal to make a clear policy 
recommendation on this to the Board. 

This task can set the basis for how we operate and deal with the other farther 
reaching issues that are in Strategic's court.
