[Strategic] SOTM-EU on Frontpage?

Sorry but no.
SOTM is organized and funded by the OSMF. SOTMEU is not. The OSMF have a
financial and moral responsibility to make SOTM a success. Unfortunately
the prevailing attitude is that people should go to SOTMEU or SOTM not
both, so any advertising of SOTMEU is sadly taking away from SOTM. And,
frankly, the extremely negative view of attending SOTM I've heard
multiple times from people in the EU does not help your case.
As the person who named the conference and started it (with help!) I
would very much like SOTMEU to succeed, of course! But, not at the
expense of the conference that the board is responsible for. We have to
make SOTM a success. It's wonderful that SOTMEU is doing well, I'm
looking forward to attending and speaking, but we have a direct
responsibility for SOTM.
