Why? Of course, you must include the dependencies and keep in mind that
     religion=religion1
     denomination=d1

is just an abbreviation for
     religion=religion1
     religion1:denomination=d1

As soon as the short form isn't unique anymore you have to return to the 
full fleshed form. Here that would be
     religion=religion1;religion2;....;religion n
     religion1:denomination=....
     religion2:denomination=....

(not all religions have denominations necessarily).
