I think you are looking for problems that don't exist. We have very clear
rules for spaces and underscores: in formal values all spaces are
substituted by underscores (to make it "one word" basically). Formal values
are defined in our wiki, are a limited set of values etc. and do not pose
problems because they have to be used as defined. On the other hand there
are free values for stuff like names or operators. These have to be written
in the "correct" way and can contain any kind of characters, including
spaces. No substitution will be made (i.e. they will be transparently
escaped, ideally).
