I never heard of alt_addr:*. Where is it documented?

It seems that alt_addr:* allows only one alternate address. addrN allows for
more.

You cannot use semicolon notation as in alt_name=*, because alt_name is one
independent tag while alt_addr:* is a set of tags.

This is already well known and documented on various wiki pages. I want to
keep the proposal concise and focus on what's new.
