none of these tags is established though, there are just 179 shop=boat tagged as of now, so I wouldn't let this influence the decision about a new tagging system that is suitable to tag what we want.

is this about a seamark or a chandler? If it's the latter, why is the main class "seamark"? Or how is this seamark system intended to work? For the record, there are only 42 objects tagged with this tag: http://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/keys/seamark%3Asmall_craft_facility%3Acategory#values
