Hi. I see it a little complicated the labeling as soccer = 11_a_side (default)/9_a_side/5_a_side/mini_soccer/*. I mean, it's not so common sense. Maybe as soccer = 11/9/5/mini_soccer/ * would be enough.
It is currently the tag sport=futsal, which is for 5-a-side soccer, and usually on a closed and covered court, with hard ground.
In my country, Argentina, this variant is NOT known as futsal, but as "Soccer 5" (translation of "Fútbol 5" to English).
The problem I find is that the futsal tag is usually not used so much, but they do use soccer, which is not the same thing. So I like the variant soccer=*

Asunto: [Tagging] Sub tags for sport=soccer
There are several varieties of soccer;
The traditional 11 a side game. The pitch size is on the OSMwiki page

Tag:sport=soccer - OpenStreetMap Wiki<http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:sport%3Dsoccer>
wiki.openstreetmap.org
A place where soccer is played, that is, association football, more commonly known as football or soccer, a team sport played between two teams of eleven players (on ...
9 a side ... so 18 players in total.
5 a side so 10 people total.
A version for the 'younger people' (children) usually called 'mini soccer".
================
I think these would be best tagged with the added sub tag of
soccer= 11_a_side(default)/9_a_side/5_a_side/mini_soccer/*
Where * can be used to describe whatever version that may come later or
be in existence now.
