This key has been used a bit already:

https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/keys/exhibit

so it's a good proposition (for example not all cars or aicrafts are 
historic).

Thanks for all the comments int his thread. It seems like there is a 
common view on this, so I will update the wiki soon to reflect it.
