“free_range” as a term would work for pigs as well:

Not sure it is needed if we look at used tagging, it could be described e.g. with these tags:
landuse=meadow or farmland 
meadow or farmland=pasture
animal=pig / cow / sheep / chicken / turkey / goose / ostrich / poultry (if you want to be less specific) / ...

(“animal” is less established tagging)
Is pasture as a term ok for a small area? Inside a farmyard, how would a animal enclosure be tagged like? If pigsty is the value for an area with outside area and a building, which is the key?
split the farmyard landuse and add
The farm as an entity could be represented by a place=farm area, if splitting the landuse is a concern.
