I thought that when I first saw it mentioned.   Then Brian introduced me to
plunge pools.  And then I remembered about tidal pools.

It also avoids potential confusion with swimming pools (which was all
Brian knew the term "pool" to mean, back in those heady,
innocent days of last week).

One day I might think about proposing other limnological terms
used by anglers. :) They don't affect this proposal, though, so
I think I'll wait until a lot more water has passed under the bridge
before I do that.
