[Tagging] Feature Proposal - RFC - addr:interpolation on closed ways and nodes

All this begs the question, "why have all previous attempts to introduce a
syntax for house numbering failed?"

Was it, "....because people enter house numbers as displayed
on-the-ground/building, e.g. '1-3', and don't want to format them
with interpretive syntax"?
