Uhm, yeah, they've all got names, but I think they're better represented by
linear features that follow the streams. (They all have streams!)
Following a contour line around them doesn't do them justice. Their walls
are steep, and their streams descend steeply. Any fixed contour either cuts
them off at the top or makes them open out prematurely at the bottom.

I've posted a half-random set of examples (scanning around the upper Esopus
Creek, because I happen to know the names of most of the hollows there)

so that you can see what I'm talking about.

By the way, you know what silent letters are. In that part of the world,
"hollow" has an invisible R on the end.  (Just like 'soda' in Providence,
where they'll buy a litah of soder.)
