Given its history I am not so sure if staff_count:doctors would be a
good idea:

It's also more or less exclusively used in Africa, often with other
seldom use and often undocumented keys such as capacity:per_day. I'd
rather leave this alone.

For the use cases I am considering here I don't think it is worth it to
count them at all.


Thank you and everybody else for their feedback. I am still unsure if
only adding a count (no matter how) is the right thing to do or if we
should make it clearer by using a dedicated key-value pair instead.
I think I will go with doctors=number and an additional sentence in the
wiki (if nobody objects to the latter). After all, it has been in the
wiki before and was used that way. I'll fix the cases where it was used
for specialities too.
