Hi Paul,
>From what I understand, the US Federal regulation in 1912 was a blanket ban
on all water fountains with reusable metal cups not the fountain itself.
There are also some regulations regarding the nozzle itself on modern
fountains... some of the older ones accumulated dribble which could
projected into the next drinkers mouth... (gross). Needless to say, this is
no longer an issue.
