This is sound advice for the most common case. Just to be clear, we 
should expect that a route may have a name in addition to the physical 
paths that it traverses. For example, a long-distance bicycle route may 
be known by a name (which could end with a word like "Trail") but 
include both on- and off-road segments. It might even require taking a 
ferry or train along part of the route. It would be inappropriate to tag 
a road, ferry, or railroad with the names of the recreational routes 
that run along it.
