The difference is that it unifies the cryptocurrency related payment
options and reflects the currently available technologies.

The "payment:cryptocurrencies:BTC:LN=no/yes" is probably not too well
described in the proposal, sorry about that, I'll update it tomorrow.

Lightning Network is a "cryptocurrency booster" if you will, and it works
on top of well known cryptocurrencies, like Bitcoin (BTC) and Litecoin
(LTC). It makes the payments fast and cheap for the customer.
LN support must be defined for every accepted crypto separately, because a
merchant can decide to accept BTC using Lightning Network, and also accept
LTC but without the Lightning Network support (making it slower and more
expensive).
