I take it you've been looking at this proposal which never actually went
through?:
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Talk:Proposed_features/Extended_tags_for_Key:Surveillance#Field_of_view.2C_height.2Fdirection.2Fangle_-_tagging_camera_and_sensor_alignment_and_mobility..._how.3F
Been doing some looking, & according to TI, there are ~107000 uses of
surveillance:type=camera, but beyond that proposal, there doesn't appear to
be any definition anywhere of cameras, mounts, directions, angles or
anything else to do with them!
Looking at the proposal, direction 0-360 is pretty straight-forward to show
the compass direction the camera is pointing, from 0 (due North), all the
way back around to 360 (also due North).
Angle 0-180 has me a bit confused though? I'm guessing the OP was working
on the angle that the camera is looking vertically, from vertically
straight down to straight up, but 0-180 doesn't really make sense?
Elevation angles like that would usually start with 0 as the camera facing
directly, horizontally forward, increasing from 0 degrees elevation through
to 90 as it elevates to pointing vertically upwards, while 0 - -90 is the
same thing in reverse as it depresses till pointing vertically down.
There have been a few questions raised on the proposal over the years, but
the OP apparently hasn't been on deck for ~11 years, so I don't think
they'll be working on it anymore!
Sounds like a good project for somebody to restart in the New Year! :-)
Thanks
Graeme
