It depends.
In cases of clear vandalism there is no need for any wait time
see for example https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/97419079
quoting comment from https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/97394624: <https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/97394624>
"Taking a look at way: 894696391 (Infant Sacrifice Ritual Area). There is a lot of Red
flags going off for this entry. First off you building way measures 696m long
(or 2300ft) while a building of this length would not be out of the ordinary for
a warehouse, the locations in the middle of an ice sheet in Greenland makes
this almost impossible. Checking over Arial maps of the location shows
no sign of civilization or anything that would represent a place of human remnants."
(I deleted it based on name, location, newbie mapper and lack of any credible source
mentioned in changeset - I have not bothered with checking aerial imagery)
--------------
In cases where I surveyed this place on my own I would change it immediately.
--------------
In cases where user was/is blocked for damaging map I would likely fix
immediately.
Similarly in cases if HOT-quality mapping and in areas of extremely low
mapping quality.
And in cases where editing adding them had changeset description of type
"adding Pokemon GO parks" or "sdssfsdfssfs"
--------------
Otherwise in cases where I have not surveyed location but I am pretty sure that
there is a mistake I would ask mapper I would ask and wait until
- their next edit + 1 hour (if someone got message and ignored it then I see no reason to wait)
- or several days (to give time for reply)

Google satellite, Google Street View must not be used for making edits and it includes deleting data.

In such case I would delete it if you are sure that it is not present at all.
